Young Thug took a birthday ride with his YSL acolytes.
It appears Young Thug can add helicopter pilot to his already extraordinary career. The god-tier vocalist and label head was filmed flying around with the YSL team over the weekend. Gunna got to ride shotgun, and Lil Duke also rode along. At first many thought Thugger was the pilot, however you can briefly see an actual masked pilot in a few shots. Good thing too, because Thug spends the whole time on his phone with a celebratory birthday drink between his legs. Check it out below.
YSL Takeover
While many A-List artists such as Gucci Mane, Travis Scott and Kanye West all have their own labels, Young Thug’s YSL has easily been the most prolific of late. Gunna, Lil Keed, Lil Duke have all released albums in recent months. Gunna’s latest album, WUNNA, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and Lil Keed is the latest rapper to affirm his rockstar status. Close affiliates Lil Gotit, Lil Baby and NBA Youngboy have recently released albums to critical acclaim as well.
In many ways Young Thug is serving as rap’s most influential A&R and mentor, in a similar way as Gucci Mane was prior to his 2014 incarceration. Throughout the late 2000’s and early 2010’s Gucci boosted the careers of the Migos, Nicki Minaj, Waka Flocka Flame, Future, Zaytoven, MikeWillMadeIt, and of course, Thugger himself.
Young Thug’s output since his early days as a Wayne disciple is no joke either. While T.I. and 50 Cent are busy arguing who has more classic albums, Thug has silently put together one of the most impressive discographies in music history, and stayed busy literally evolving the English language. There’s a reason every rapper and their brother looks and sounds just like him.
