Wale teams up with DJ Money on freestyle
In traditional Wale fashion, there was no word of him dropping new music until hours before it happened. In his Instagram stories, he posted that he was “back in his bag” with DJ Money and would be dropping new music after Monday Night Football.
The track starts out with a sample from Jazmine Sullivan’s song “Lions, Tigers & Bears”. Throughout the song, Wale drops countless NFL references and odes to football players on each team (Detroit Lions, Cincinnati Bengals, and Chicago Bears) which comes with what appears to be a Jason Whitlock diss.
“Droppin new music is therapeutic,” Wale commented on Twitter. It appears he has been busy in the studio recording new music for his next album. It’s unlike artists to drop music on Monday nights, so fans were definitely not ready.

Wale’s History of New Music
Representing the DMV, Wale has shown he is an artist that can’t be “dismissed”. Since 2018, he has released three EPs and dropped his album Wow… That’s Crazy last fall. Earlier this year, during the rise of police brutality across America, he dropped his EP The Imperfect Storm.
The six-track EP The Imperfect Storm touched on topics such as the riots, protests, and the effects of COVID-19 happening across the globe. Those topics were specifically highlighted with the tracks “Movin Different” and “Empty Wishing Well”.
After Wale’s latest post on Twitter, DirtySouthHipHop fans are waiting on his next album or EP release.
