Morehouse student was offered his first semester of tuition to be fully paid by famous Astroworld rapper Travis Scott. He had also promised to pay for five inspiring students. Travis Scott received a lot of attention from his twitter post with more than 30,000 comments from students and others asking for assistance, but the Morehouse student had caught the eye of the rapper.
Travis Scott’s donation has brought inspiration to Morehouse freshman Nasire Branch
Morehouse freshman Nasire Branch, replied to Travis’ offer, stating that he had lost out on many traditional high school experiences in his final high school year due to COVID-19
“COVID has taken away my prom, my senior graduation, and my freshman year at Morehouse, I have been listening to Travis Scott since my freshman year of high school and today (he) tweeted he wants to take care of 5 students tuition! This could change my life!” The freshmen wrote.
Nasire Branch continued to go on about how he is a first-generation HBCU student and is making plans to major in business administration. He had also said his family was making efforts to get him through college. The rapper immediately responded by saying that his mother always wanted him to go to Morehouse and then gave him the gift of miracles and offered to cover Branch’s tuition.
Besides paying for the Morehouse student, the millionaire rapper Travis Scott also promised to pay the tuition of Taylor Ivy, a Howard University freshman.
He has not publicly chosen any other students. On Saturday afternoon, Scott’s initial tweet offering to pay for tuition had over 244,000 likes and was retweeted over 18,000 times. The tuition at Morehouse, which is teaching students remotely this semester, is $27,000 for the 2020-21 academic year. The rapper has made other several charitable donations in the past. Last May, he gave donations from any profit from sales of his merchandise at a recent music festival to nonprofit Planned Parenthood.
