Leak reveals Travis Scott and Mcdonald’s collaboration on the horizon.
According to a leaked memo, Travis Scott and McDonalds are reportedly teaming up in the near future. The Houston rapper is no stranger to collaborations, and this could mark his second food-related product. His first came in July 2019 when he released a Reese’s Puff cereal with General Mills with his likeness on the box. Although McDonald’s has declined to comment on the leak, there are some snippets from the memo that gives us some more insight into their motives. The US Chief Marketing Officer for McDonald’s, Morgan Flatley, is quoted in the document saying, “From his impossible-to-get Nike sneaker line to a cereal collab with General Mills that sold out in 30 seconds, to a record-setting virtual concert series inside Fortnite, Travis Scott is the definition of big in culture.”

A Travis Scott Mcdonald's collab is rumored to be in the works for a September release. Unfortunately, sneakers are not releasing only apparel. Marketing promotion is set to start soon. It looks like McDonald’s is trying to tap back into a market they have lost some footing in. Another part of the memo sees Flatley say, “He will resonate and spark excitement with our youthful multicultural customers, and has a few surprises to delight our crew and ensure they are part of the excitement.” This makes sense since Travis’ other collaborations have usually found their mark in a crowd of younger people. His recent single “The Plan,” however, shows him spreading his wings and venturing out into the soundtrack world.
It seems the burger giant is moving towards a bigger celebrity push beyond Travis Scott. Flatley also said in the memo, “Travis is the first in a suite of big celebrities that resonate across segments and are true fans of our food and our brand.” This, coupled with their last Super Bowl commercial, “Famous Orders,” hinted at what is to come. The Super Bowl commercial shows a series of food orders alongside celebrity names, some real and some fictional. Most notable of the names, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West.
While Cactus jack was not among the orders, it appears that he will spearhead the official collaborations that are to come.
