Teyana Taylor Gives Birth In Bathroom AGAIN

This is Teyana Taylor’s second birth to eschew a hospital.

Teyana Taylor and championship-winning basketball player Iman Shumpert welcomed a second child, Rue Rose, birthed from the comfort of home this week. Their first child, Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. (or Junie for short) was also born in the couple’s bathroom in 2015.

Rue was (appropriately) born on Labor Day, one day after Taylor’s baby shower. Shumpert took to Instagram to celebrate and say that “when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy… but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital!”

At 3:28 am on Sept 6th 2020 Rue Rose 🌹 decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit. She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!! Now…when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy… but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital! Our newest edition entered the world in the water and came out looking around and ready to explore! A healthy child. A little sister. Another daughter. Black love wins….again. Teyana announced her pregnancy over the summer in a music video for “Wake Up Love”, which featured her husband and first child. Baby Rose even has her own Instagram account, racking up almost 80 thousand followers in less than a week of life.

Iman took to Instagram again on Tuesday to praise Taylor for being the “toughest piece of filet mignon I ever had.”

“Let’s talk about the Goat…two kids…no meds…both natural births successfully done at home—in a bathroom! I get a lot of credit at times but I literally just applaud the way she carried the weight twice, which in actuality equates to her dedicating two years of herself to add to our growing dinner reservation. When you really think about it…all I have to do as a man is catch 🤷🏾‍♂️. When we talk hero’s, who talks about super powers and doesn’t mention the power of making another minion for your own army!”

Erykah Badu helped deliver Rose.

Erykah Badu has had a passion for being a midwife since 2001, according to a 2015 Pitchfork interview, and she helped deliver Teyana, Iman, and Junie’s newest family member. “Thank you both for allowing me to assist,” she posted to Instagram. “Love, proud Badoula- aka ‘The welcoming Committee’ Shine Rue!!”

“I’m considering home birth and I’m actually gonna be doing it with Erykah Badu,” Teyana said before the birth of Rose. “You know, I feel like if I did it once without any type of warning, I could do it this time fully prepared. Giving birth like that was scary but it was such a powerful thing.”
