“Oh Nvm us…just a couple Kings plottin global domination😈, Boyyyyy when I tell you me & slime got some shit comin…. ya besst believe it JACK‼️👑👑💯🍾💵💰 #InstantClassic #AnotherOne …” – T.I. via Instagram
A few weeks ago, T.I. dropped a photo on Instagram of himself and Young Thug in the studio. In the caption, he stated they had some “shit comin” and today the new single “Ring” dropped. The track which was produced by DY Krazy and Chopsquad DJ and released via Grand Hustle is now available on all major streaming platforms.
There’s a lot of speculation around if this is the first single off an upcoming album for the Atlanta rapper. In an interview with XXL Mag, he was asked if he was about to drop the 11th album. “I don’t know, that’s the rumor. I’ve heard things. Yeah, that’s the rumor. If there was an album, I think that the visuals would be a big part. I’d probably already have some visually stimulating content in the can.”
T.I. hasn’t released a new album since his 2018 Dime Trap, so it’s about time he drops what we know will be another classic album.
What else has TIP been working on?
The single “Ring” comes weeks after T.I. and 50 Cent announced they were teaming up on a CBS All Access drama titled Twenty Four Seven. T.I. will star in the series and 50 Cent will executive produce. Shortly after the partnership was announced, the rappers started another “back and forth” on social media. 50 took a shot at T.I.’s facial hair and album sales, while T.I. referred to 50 Cent as “slow” and claimed he wouldn’t stand a chance in a Verzuz battle with “that one & 1/2 albums he got.”
T.I. is also working on the second season of Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow. This music competition takes the streets of cities like Atlanta, Chicago, and L.A. to find the next rap superstar with judges T.I., Cardi B, and Chance the Rapper. The rapper is also working on the movie Cut Throat City that he co-directed with Wu-Tang member RZA. Cut Throat City is about the dystopia of New Orleans after Katrina.
