Scarface shared the good news that he has begun the process to receive a kidney transplant. Shortly after sharing with social media the need for a kidney transplant, Houston emcee Scarface took time to update fans that he has actually begun the process to receive one. The Geto Boys rapper suffered irreparable damage to his kidneys after being diagnosed with the virus back in March.

“It started off with pneumonia in both of my lungs, right. Three or four days later my kidneys failed,” he said during an appearance on Willie D’s YouTube show.
The rapper made a follow-up appearance on Wille D’s YouTube show warning Georgia and Texas about re-opening too soon.
Face told FOX 26 Houston, “COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out,” “I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back.”
I’ve started the process to get a kidney transplant, I appreciate the love! it should take me 2-3 months to see if I’m a good candidate, in the meantime you stay healthy, the list will open shortly there after and we can discuss who’s a match.. again I appreciate that y’all..

Though Scarface overcame infection, beating the virus was only half the battle. In April, the MC suffered from kidney failure and endured dialysis four times a week. Face also pointed out kidney problems weren’t a pre-existing problem prior to contracting the virus.
Before Scarface’s most recent update, Atlanta-rapper T.I. added an additional incentive to any volunteer that could donate a kidney. Below is the Instagram post “Tip” posted in support of a fellow down south artist. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for Face to find a donor.
Scarface Calls Out President Trump
During the whole ordeal, Face made sure to express how he felt about President Trump’s handling of the pandemic. Back in July, Scarface tweeted:
