Nick Cannon Making Moves for Wild ‘n Out
This past July, Nick Cannon had lost his show Wild ‘n Out due to anti-semitic comments he made during one of his podcasts but is working to get his show back on the air. To get the show back on MTV, Cannon has been learning about Jewish culture from rabbis and other members of the Jewish community.
ViacomCBS President of Entertainment Chris McCarthy has had a long-standing relationship with Nick and claimed he is making excellent progress in learning from his mistakes. McCarthy could not directly comment on if Wild ’n Out is making a comeback but acknowledged Cannon’s growth.
The relationship between McCarthy and Cannon is an important one to note since McCarthy was the one who helped to reboot Wild’ n Out back in 2016. The Hip-Hop and Comedy communities are eager to see a return of some sort and the reports of Nick’s progress are a sign that it can possibly be back sooner than later.
Accountability Gives New Opportunity
When Nick Cannon first made his controversial comments on his Cannon Class Podcast, the immediate backlash seemed to be a moment that could derail his success for a longer period. However, with these latest developments, Cannon is aiming to bounce back better than ever to get his show back.
Going forward we are excited to see Nick make more progress in educating himself and his community on cultural acceptance. As a show, Wild’ n Out has given the culture many moments that amuse and entertain us and his fans are rooting for his return.
Considering the steps Cannon has taken in understanding his mistakes, he is deserving of at least being reconsidered for a reboot. He will have to continue growing as a person reach this goal but he has proven capable of growing past older perceptions of himself.
