Celebrities are giving back.
With everything going on in the United States recently, sometimes people just need a reminder that someone cares about them. Between COVID-19, unemployment on the rise, political divisions, and something as basic as where their next meal is coming from has been a source of stress for many Americans.
Nick Cannon, with the sponsorship of legendary producer Dr. Dre, has decided to help families and give back to people that have been experiencing these problems. The “Feed Your City Challenge”, started by retired NBA player Ricky Davis and music industry veteran Tony Draper, is a positive response to dealing with the COVID-19 issue. The latest stop took place in Dr. Dre’s hometown, Compton.
The food drive took place November 21st at Wilson Park, which is located in Compton, and was a reported success. Nick Cannon was on-site helping and assisted in helping hundreds of families with giving out meat, Thanksgiving Turkeys, produce and PPE supplies (masks, gloves, etc.)
Do not worry! Even with such a large amount of people meeting at one place, the event was safe and followed many COVID-19 safety guidelines. Everyone was socially distanced, wearing masks, and attendees went through a one-lane drive thru that was contactless. Safe and socially conscious, nothing better.
Dre was not actually in attendance.
“The Doctor” himself was not in attendance for the event, but that did not stop him from making a profound statement about the “Feed Your City Challenge”. Dre released a statement regarding the event.
The good thing about the challenge, is that this was not the last that will be happening! Artists such as Trey Songz, Pusha T, Rick Ross, and DJ Mustard have hosted the “Feed Your City Challenge”.
Before this event happening, Nick has been in talks to get “Wild N Out” back on the air. He lost the show this year due to controversy, but fans have voice their opinions wanting it back. Best of luck to him in his quest to regain what is his.
