“Mama, I need you to tuck me in. I done made some mistakes and they rubbed it in. I know you and Grandma had enough of them. Why I gotta be some stubborn?” – Kanye West
Weeks after Kanye West announced he was entertaining the thought of running in the 2020 Presidential race, he has decided to return back to the music scene. On Sunday, he released what appears to be a sneak peek of a song titled Donda which is named after his late mother, Donda West. In 2007, at the age of 58, Donda West died following post-surgery complications. She would have celebrated her 71st birthday on June 12.
Earlier in the day, Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian-West posted a video on social media showing Kanye and his mother rapping to Hey Mama. The track Hey Mama off the 2015 album Late Registration was also dedicated to his mom.

At the beginning of the track, you hear Donda West reciting the lyrics to KRS-One’s track Sound of Da Police. Kanye drops into the song around the 1:30 mark. Donda is the latest track from Kanye since the release of Wash Us in the Blood featuring Travis Scott.
West has announced a tentative project called God’s Country that is reportedly in the works. In the meantime, check out the song and visuals for Donda.
