New Music Friday: Future, Lil Uzi, 2 Chainz And More

New music from Future, Lil Uzi, 2 Chainz and Lil Nas X.

It’s New Music Friday, and an absurd amount of music dropped from heavyweights, popstars, and underground upstarts alike. Future and Lil Uzi Vert finally release their long-awaited collab album, as does 2 Chainz. New projects also dropped from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Father and Kodak Black, while Rico Nasty and Don Toliver release new singles.

Check out all the hottest music from the dirty south and beyond below!

Future & Lil Uzi Vert – “That’s It”

Pluto x Baby Pluto has finally arrived. Following several singles this summer, and a long history of collaboration, two of the most influential rappers of the last decade team up for sixteen epic songs. Future is no stranger to collaborative albums. He also linked up with Drake for 2015’s What A Time To Be Alive, Young Thug for 2017’s Super Slimey, and Juice Wrld for 2018’s Wrld On Drugs.

2 Chainz – “Save Me” (feat. YoungBoy Never Broke Again)

2 Chainz is back with So Help Me God, with help from an incredible cast of artists. Kanye West, Lil Uzi Vert, Chief Keef, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Duval, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kevin Gates, Rick Ross, Mulatto, Lil Wayne and more. Don’t expect a drought of 2 Chainz any time soon. He reportedly also has projects in the works with Kanye and Weezy.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again – “Around”

YoungBoy Never Broke Again is seemingly the most prolific artist of 2020. He’s already released *takes deep breath* Still Flexin Still Steppin, 38 Baby 2, Top, Ain’t Too Long, Until I Return AND still has another studio album and a collaborative effort with Rich The Kid coming out in the next month. YoungBoy is on a run the hip-hop world hasn’t seen since Lil Wayne and Gucci’s respective output peaks. At only 21, he’s definitely on track to match Gucci’s 102 album run at some point.

Father – “Come Outside, We Not Gone Jump You”

The remnants of Atlanta art-trap label Awful Records is alive and well, despite incredibly little press coverage and Playboi Carti years long tease of Whole Lotta Red. ILoveMakonnen dropped M3 in 2019 and Key! delivered the most underrated album of the year this summer. Now Father returns for his first full length project in two years, Come Outside, We Not Gone Jump You. The album follows a six song EP from earlier this year, That Thingz I Do 4 Money.

Rico Nasty – “OHFR?”

Hip-hop’s punk goddess continues the long rollout for her upcoming album Nightmare Vacation. Her newest song, “OHFR?” comes with a wild, monochromatic, old-school punk music video. “OHFR?” follows recent singles “Own It,” “Don’t Like It” and 100 gecs assisted “IPHONE.”

Lil Nas X – “HOLIDAY”

Last year’s greatest pop success story returns (on the same day as last year’s other greatest pop success story, no less. Wild industry face-off between Sony and Universal. Regardless, Tencent will make their bag this week.) Anyways this new offering from Nas X, Tay Keith and Daytrip takes viewers on a CGI laden tour of what I assume is the newly renovated Amazon warehouse that replaced Santa’s workshop at the North Pole. Also a Lil Nas X Mt. Rushmore?

Masego & Don Toliver – “Mystery Lady”

Houston’s Don Toliver returns with a new single with Jamaican-American musician Masego. The track is from Masego’s upcoming six-song EP Studying Abroad. Don Toliver was recently featured on “Don’t Like It” with Rico Nasty and Gucci Mane, and is expected to release a new album soon with Cactus Jack house producer Chase B soon.

Kodak Black – “Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe”
