New Music Friday: 2 Chainz, Nicki Minaj And More

New music from 2 Chainz, Youngboy & Nicki, YSL and 1017.

It’s New Music Friday and Atlanta just keeps showing out. Not only are they turning Georgia blue for the first time in a generation, but this week continues their decades long grip on hip-hop culture. Every song on this week’s roundup has ties to Atlanta, except “Bryson” by Memphis spiritual guru NLE Choppa.

2 Chainz linked up with Mulatto for new music

Off of his upcoming album So Help Me God. This week he announced So Help Me God will finally arrive November 13, following a string of delays due to sample clearances.

Legendary Atlanta hitmakers Mike WiLL Made-It and Southside both have new releases as well. Mike WiLL teamed up with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Nicki Minaj for a poppy trap track “What That Speed Bout?!” Nicki Minaj has spent the year hopping on event tracks like this and has notched her first number 1 hits with Doja Cat and 6ix9ine.

Southside meanwhile released an entire new music project with Future and Freebandz signee Doe Boy. Demons R Us includes features from Swae Lee, Future, Chief Keef, Trippie Redd, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Other notable releases this week include Baby Plug’s new album Lemme Pop My Shxt 2, which includes a remix of “No Fifties” featuring YSL stars Lil Keed and Lil Gotit. NAV released a new project with YSL house producer Wheezy. Check out “Do Ya Deed” from that album featuring one of Atlanta’s most underrated rappers SahBabii.

Finally in 1017 news, Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty released a new music video for their song “Lightning” which was off Gucci Mane’s most recent album.
