Beyoncé’s new song, “Black Parade”, captures the mood of the movement coming to life in the United States. Many artists have used the recent months to reflect on police brutality and what it means to be “Black” in America. Superstars Jay-Z and Beyoncé have chosen to speak out over these controversial issues.
Jay-Z has sent lawyers and money to protest funds and Beyoncé has used her platform to shed light on the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. It is great to see stars speak up with the people during these times.
Although, Beyoncé has spoken up about controversial issues in the past with her song, “Formation”. She even had an ode to the Black Panthers in her performance of, “Formation”, in the 2017 Superbowl LI.
“Black Parade”, is no different as it dives deep into black culture and pride. The song evokes a sense of triumph amongst our nation despite an ongoing pandemic and racial tension. The song is upbeat with a lot of variety.
