New Civil Lawsuit Filed Against Takeoff

A new civil lawsuit was filed against Migo’s rapper Takeoff on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times reported that Takeoff had allegedly been accused of raping a woman at a party in Encino, CA on June 23. According to the lawsuit, Kirshnik “Takeoff” Ball pursued the woman at a house party that she attended with an “associate” of the Migos. The woman stated in the lawsuit that Takeoff offered her weed and began to talk with her. As he made alleged “advances” at her, she declined.

Details of the Rape Allegations and Lawsuit

The reports stated in the lawsuit were that Takeoff ran into the woman in a stairwell later on during the party. At that point, he followed her into a bedroom and “allegedly” sexually assaulted her. The woman then stated she made it clear she was not interested; however, Takeoff started to touch her body without consent. He allegedly forced her face-down onto the bed and proceeded to rape her. The woman, who is still being identified as Jane Doe, went to the hospital the same day and the hospital staff observed “physical evidence of forceful rape”. The LA Police Department was immediately alerted of the alleged rape.

The lawsuit states Takeoff is guilty of sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress among other potential charges.  “Our client is in shock and fears retaliation from speaking out,” said the woman’s attorney, Neama Rahmani. “We don’t yet know all the facts nor who might have witnessed events that evening. We hope this lawsuit will prompt the police to quickly move forward and that through discovery we can uncover more evidence of what happened that night.”

In a statement from Takeoff’s lawyer, Drew Findling, he called the claims “patently and provably false” and said that the Atlanta rapper was the “target of an obvious exploitative money grab.” Findling added, “The claims and statements made regarding this lawsuit indicate that the plaintiffs’ representatives have not spoken with relevant witnesses or reviewed available evidence.”

The woman, Jane Doe, is seeking unspecified damages, while her attorney stressed the lawsuit was filed in order to put pressure on the criminal investigation.
