Lil Wayne and Kodak Black Looking to be Pardoned

Wayne and Kodak Seeking Pardon from President Trump

As Donald Trump’s Presidency is coming to a close, there have been reports that he is looking to pardon rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.  Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson spoke on Kodak’s behalf asking Trump to pardon the Florida rapper on Twitter.

Lil Wayne has had multiple interactions with Trump over the past few months where Wayne has shown support the President.  In November before the election, Lil Wayne tweeted a photo with him and Donald Trump and his approval of the “criminal reform” points of the Platinum Plan.

Back in November of 2020, Wayne was charged with illegal possesion of firearms and was facing serious jail time if convicted.  As Wayne was on trial for the weapon posession, Kodak tweeted support of Wayne’s freedom claiming that Wayne was an inspirtation for him to start rapping.

Black was also convicted on federal firearm charges in November, 2019 and has be in prison since that time. Kodak was sentenced to 46 months after lying on a backrground check in purchasing guns.

The open support between Donald Trump can be seen from Lil Wayne on his No Ceilings 3 mixtape that also came out in November of 2020.  In the “Life is Good” freestyle Wayne makes reference to Trump claiming that he had not done his taxes since his meeting with him.

Wayne’s pardon would come at a good time for the production of his music as he is planning to release his 14th studio album I Am Not A Human Being III this year.  The rapper made reference to the forthcoming project all through No Celiengs 3.

Trump is scheduled to announce his Presidential pardons on his last day in office January 19th.  Along with Wayne and Kodak, there are several potential candidates for Trump’s pardon list including his daughter Ivanka  and Jared Kushner.
