Lil Nas X’s Success
Lil Nas X’s music career is only going up, the 22-year-old rapper is prepping to release his big project Montero this Friday.
He has accomplished so much in so little amount of time including landing on top of the Hot 100. While winning multiple awards this year, he also stirred a little (or a lot,) of controversy surrounding his Call Me By Your Name music video.
Hope LBGT Rappers Follow Lead Of Female Rappers
Lil Nas X sat down with Zane Lowe, and the conversation came up about how female rappers’ success can be looked up to by many LBGTQ rappers.
The successful artist talks about how awesome it is how women are getting their deserved recognition, and hopes in a few years LBGTQ artists will get that same attention.
“Just looking around and seeing all these other artists who are gay just pushed to this box, this bowl of gay artists and it’s like… you’re here,” Nas X said. “I feel like especially right now with female rappers, I think that’s so dope that that’s happening because we haven’t seen this ever.”
“So many female rappers that are just killing it. And I feel like a decade from now it’s going to be the same with gay rappers or any rappers. I feel like there are going to be entire trans rappers and whatnot just killing it because, why not?”
Years from now we can definitely expect new LBGTQ rappers killing it in the industry.
