Fans Were Convinced That Lil Baby Would Go Home As A Winner
Lil Baby was nominated for the Artist Of The Year award at the BET Awards 2020 and his fans thought he would go home a winner. His last album, My Turn, was a huge success. The album has gone certified double platinum. It also peaked at number one on the Billboard 200.
Twelve of Lil Baby’s songs off of My Turn charted on the US Billboard Hot 100. This combined with Lil Baby’s other top-charting hits gives him a total of 47 songs on the Billboard chart. This is the equivalent to musical legends such as Paul McCartney and Prince. Despite dominating the charts this year, the Atlanta trap rapper did not go home with the award.
This caused an uproar on Twitter. Fans complained about how the rapper was robbed out of the award. The Artist of The Year award was instead awarded to Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston hottie dropped some stellar singles and even worked with Beyonce, but she did not release an album this year. This left many Lil Baby fans confused.

How Did He Handle The Situation?
The rapper handled the situation in a clever way. He posted on his Instagram a picture of him wearing stylish denim on denim and a Louis Vuitton belt and bag. For his caption, he used his lyrics from his feature on Gunna’s “Blindfold” to send a message that he isn’t worried about the loss.
The caption reads “I Like Getting Millions, Ain Trippin About Awards”. By posting this, he was able to share his thoughts with the public and promote the song he did with Gunna.
