Jamie Foxx Starts Fund In Honor Of Sister

Jamie Foxx Helps Raise $1.9 Million Dollars

In memory of Jamie Foxx’s beloved sister, DeOndra Dixon who unfortunately is no longer here with us, Foxx created a fund. This fund is called the “DeOndra Dixon Fund.”

Saturday was the important annual Global Down Syndrome Foundation Be Yourself Fashion Show that many attended including Jamie Foxx. This year was great because a grand total of $1.9 million was raised, which is a record-breaker and will help save many many lives! The money raised will be put towards medical research and treatments.

DeOndra would be extremely proud of her brother. Foxx eludes that his sister was the “sweetest and most inspirational figure to everybody”. In memory of her, Jamie publicly announced on Saturday the “DeOndra Dixon Fund” alongside with Michelle Sie Whitten.

DeOndra’s Passing

DeOndra Dixon, unfortunately, passed away in October. Everyone was heartbroken, including Jamie. He dedicated a heartfelt Instagram post to her, writing about how she would light up a room, and how her death really impacted him.

“My heart is shattered into a million pieces… my beautiful loving sister Deondra has transitioned…,I say transitioned because she will always be alive… anyone who knew my sis… knew that she was a bright light…” Jamie shares.

He continues to add how she was the life of the party, and it was a never dull moment when she was around. “I can’t tell you how many times we have had parties at the house where she has got on the dance floor and stolen the show… ,” Jamie says. He even adds a little joke for laughs, “Even gave her boyfriend @chrisbrownofficial a run for his money…”

Foxx then talks about some happy moments with DeOndra. “Well I know she is in heaven now dancing with her wings on…tho my pain is unbelievable I smile when I think of all of the great memories that she left me…”

“My family… and her friends… from dancing in the blame it video… to Dancing on the Grammys… And becoming The ambassador to @globaldownsyndrome… from sliding down my stairs with a grin as wide as the Rio grand… to serenading us with all of her music…,” Jamie continues. He finishes the post by writing about how when DeOndra left, a big part of him left as well.

“Deondra you have left A hole in my heart… but I will fill it with all of the memories that you gave me,” he shared. “I love you with every ounce of me… our family is shattered but we will put the pieces back together with your love… and y’all please keep my family in your prayers… 💔💔💔.”
