Earlier this month, R&B singer August Alsina brought to light the relationship he had with Jada Pinkett-Smith in an interview with The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee. Smith later let her fans know she would be “bringing herself to the red table” to let fans know what transpired in her relationship with Alsina.
Today, Jada Pinkett-Smith dropped the episode Jada Brings Herself to the Table on Facebook. As she sat down with her husband, Will Smith, she discussed how the couple had decided they were going to separate for a period of time while “figuring out how to make themselves happy”. The relationship started with Alsina when he came to the family needing help with his health and mental state. “It was a joy to just help heal somebody,” stated Jada.
The Smiths cleared up Alsina’s statement regarding Will Smith giving permission to let Jada develop a relationship with him. “The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself” stated Jada. She believes he made the statement so everyone would know he is not a “home-wrecker”.
Jada Pinkett-Smith doesn’t look at it as a “transgression”, as referred to by Will, and she doesn’t regret her relationship with August Alsina. She learned a lot about herself, was able to confront emotional immaturities and insecurities, and do some healing.
