Jacob Blake has spent the last two weeks fighting for his life. As we all know by now, Blake was shot seven times in the back by the Kenosha police department. After a few days in the hospital, Blake’s father reported that his son is paralyzed. There have been no reports on Jacob’s health since his father’s initial update.
On Sunday, Jacob made his first public statement since the incident happened; however, he didn’t get into the specifics of the incident. Blake has hired famed attorney Benjamin Krump and we are sure Krump has urged him to not speak on the situation in detail. He did deliver an emotional update on the status of his health. In the video, Jacob says “Twenty-four hours, every twenty hours its pain, nothing but pain. It hurts to breathe, it hurts to sleep, it hurts to move from side to side, it hurts to eat”.

Jacob also talked about life in general, and how quickly it can be taken away. He said “Your life, and not only just your life, your legs, something you need to move around and move forward in life, can be taken from you like that”. Jacob urged his people to stick together, “Stick together, make some money, make everything easier for our people out there man, because there’s so much time that’s been wasted”.
Everyone is glad that Jacob is still alive; however, under no circumstances should he be laying in a hospital bed after suffering seven shots. The officer who shot him, Rusten Sheskey has been placed on administrative leave, but not yet charged for shooting Jacob. Hopefully, he can make a full recovery and can get back to utilizing his legs at some point in his life.
