J. Cole’s “2014 Forest Hills Drive” still winning awards
On Wednesday, Dreamville co-founder and Cole’s manager, Ibrahim Hamad, tweeted that J. Cole now has 12 new plaques to add to his name. The Dreamville artist took home twelve new Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifications from tracks featured on his acclaimed album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The certifications include seven additional Platinum and five Gold plaques.

RIAA’s Platinum and Gold certifications are awarded when a record sells 1 million units and 500,000 units respectively. “Note to Self” is the only track off J. Cole’s third studio LP that has yet to be certified at least Gold. The certifications for 2014 Forest Hills Drive arrive three months after the RIAA announced 10 new plaques for the album 4 Your Eyez Only.
More accomplishments for J. Cole
Despite the obstacles we have all faced with COVID, J. Cole has been extremely busy this year. In February, Cole marked a personal milestone with a multi-year partnership with PUMA and has released the RS-Dreamer shoe line.
In July, J. Cole dropped “The Climb Back” and “Lion King on Ice,” which are the first singles off his upcoming album, The Fall Off. He has also continued to openly discuss his love for the NBA and has considered trying out for the league.
