Was Bobby Shmurda supposed to be released from prison today?
Monday afternoon rumors surfaced that Bobby Shmurda was scheduled to have his parole meeting and could be released from prison Tuesday, August 4th. Though somewhat inaccurate, the rumor wasn’t far off. Bobby’s mother, Leslie Pollard spoke to the shade room to clear the rumors up. Lesli was quoted saying “The Parole hearing is scheduled for August 18th we are very confident that things will go well and as always we know God will see us through, he always does”
How Long Has Bobby Shmurda Been In Prison
Bobby Shmurda was arrested in December 2014 along with 11 other individuals. NYPD’S Brooklyn South Violence Reduction Task Force and the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor’s Gang Unit had been watching Bobby Shmurda and his crew for 2 years. in September of 2016, Bobby took a plea deal, and plead guilty to one count of third-degree conspiracy and one count of weapons possession. He was sentenced to seven years in prison. Bobby could have taken a plea deal of only five years. But he was willing to take on more years so his friend and co-defendant rowdy Rebel could get a lighter sentence. In the end, they got took a plea deal of 7 years. If Bobby would have taken the initial five-year plea, rowdy would have been given 12. There has been no word yet if Rowdy Rebel’s parole hearing date has been set.
