Lil Yachty has been pretty busy throughout 2020, as he locks deals in with high profiled collaborators. Previous collaborations Lil Yachty has done range from Supreme and Urban Outfitters to his AXE body spray.
Besides his music career, he is very focused on fashion. Even though past fashion and music collabs have always met expectations, his next collab is one of his most unique and many are questioning his decisions towards this collab.
Lil Yachty collaborates with Reese’s Puff
On December 28th, Lil Yachty wrote a brief tweet announcing that he landed a Reese’s Puffs collaboration and will be debuting very shortly.
The peanut butter and chocolate cereal will come with his very own special cereal box featuring his face. Lil Yachty expressed his enthusiasm by sharing a photo of him pouring the cereal into a bowl, wearing a jacket that also represents the delightful collab. “I’ve done a lot of things in my career, but this is one I’m probably most proud of,” he tweeted.
On that day, General Mills’ senior marketing communications manager Mindy Murray tweeted about the newest collab as well. “He brought his signature creativity to this collaboration, we knew our fans would be excited to see his design on the front of our cereal boxes,” she said.
Lil Yachty posted photos in celebration of the collab
Ironically, the picture and announcements of the Reese Puffs collaboration came shortly after Lil Yachty released “Reese’s Puffs Rap.” Lil Yachty expressed his love for the cereal in the broadcast, which is uploaded on SoundCloud.
sWe are uncertain when the hip-hop collab cereal may be seen on store shelves, or if any other merch related to the collab may be dropped along with the release of the special packaging.
As fans anticipate to taste the Lil Yatchy influenced cereal, two days ago Yachty was interviewed by Hypebeast and told that there’s so much more to come.
“It’ll be everywhere, everywhere, you know,” he teased. “And everyone grocery shops, from your grandmother to your nephew and niece and everyone. So it’s just, it’s super cool. I love it anytime I’m doing anything that’s led by my workspace and interest in something. … This is like a really cool collectible I would say, not only just for me, but just for people who like to collect.”
