Geico Commerical
No one wants to watch a boring Geico commercial, so what’s better than having beloved Tag Team in a commercial while incorporating their 1992 hit “Whoomp There It Is.”
A change of lyrics was done to the iconic song by The Martin Agency for the ad, and the Tag Team duo was in it making delicious ice cream sundaes in the kitchen.
This ad will make it the first time the duo appears on a commercial with the remake version, being they haven’t before with many other remakes from Walmart, Android, and Outback.
“We’ve been obsessed with this song since it came out in the ’90s,” The senior copywriter Roger Hailes, Martin says.
“It has this magical ability to put people in a good mood no matter what. I remember in high school, if a party was lame, we’d put on ‘Whoomp!’ That’s when parties just take off. Back in the day, I would sing: ‘Whoomp! There it is!’ and my mom would say: ‘There what is?’ And I’d say: ‘Doesn’t matter!’ ”
