Eve is reported to be starring in a new hourlong ABC drama entitled Queens.
The self-described diva will be returning back to television screens after her long break. Before her temporary break, Eve served as one of the hosts for The Talk on CBS for four years as well.
Announcements that Eve will be joined on the forthcoming show by Naturi Naughton have been made official! Earlier in her acting career, the singer/actress beforehand played star roles in the Power television franchise and the Notorious movie as well. The ABC drama, Queens focuses around the homecoming of the legendary 1990s Hip Hop group called the Nasty B######. Many fans find Naturi and Eve the perfect match for their roles, and most likely the pair will put their real-life personal experiences to good use for the respective roles of Jill (aka Da Thrill) and Brianna.
Eve was one of the biggest top-selling female rappers of the late-90s, early 2000s and still is an icon in the industry. Albums such as 1999’s Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady, and 2001’s Scorpion helped made a name for herself in the male-dominated industry. The American rapper, singer-songwriter, actress, television presenter, and talk show hostess from Philadelphia used to closely associate with the Ruff Ryders crew.
Naughton first gained recognition when she sang in R&B/Pop girl group 3LW.
The R&B/Pop girl trio is best known for the 2000 single “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right)” off their self-titled debut LP. After their successful trio career, they decided to part ways, but Naughton contributed to 2009’s Fame soundtrack.
Eve appeared in films such as Barbershop, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, and Barbershop: The Next Cut. Eve also had her very own television sitcom which aired for three seasons on UPN. Besides her girl group, Naughton is anticipated to proceed to play Tasha St. Patrick on Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost.
