The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady is Kid Cudi’s third song of the year, following Leader of Delinquents and The Scotts, a collab with Travis Scott. Kid Cudi opens up the track discussing late-night jaunts, his stint in rehab, and going through the “dark and the light.
Eminem was recently named one of hip-hop’s G.O.A.T. by several of his proteges and this song shows us exactly why he is named a lyrical genius. In the track, he references the Trump Administration, COVID-19, and the killings of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery. “How the f— is it that so many cops are dirty?/ Stop, man, please, officer, I’m sorry/ But I can’t breathe when I got you on top of me/ Your goddamn knee’s on my carotid artery.”
Fans also pointed out the references from Eminem that appear to be directed at Drake. “I got you in my top five worst rappers of all time/I lost my spot, y’all got Alzheim….. You should never compare yours/A toll-free number, only way you’ll ever have a hot-line”.
