Drake scored a feature on 21 Savage’s and Metro Boomin news album. He is featured on the track entitled “Mr. Right Now”. I’m sure most Hip-Hop fans tuned in to hear “October’s Very Own” drop another hot verse, but they were in for a shocker.
On the new song, Aubrey says “yeah, said she wanna f**k to some SZA, wait, cause I used to date SZA back in 08″. It didn’t take long for people to start doing their math, and the year difference would put Drake at 22 and SZA at 17, or 18. The legal age of consent varies from state to state, with most states being 17, or 18. This would probably dissolve Drake of any legal wrongdoing. And I’m sure if he did commit any crimes, he wouldn’t give off that information himself.
Sza hasn’t made a statement about the claims, however, it looks as if she isn’t taking to kindly to the claims. Soon after the song was released, Sza unfollowed Drake on Instagram, while as of now he is still following her.
This is always a slippery slope for music artists. Their job is to write about their reality, if this is apart of Drake’s reality, is he wrong for mentioning it? On the other hand, privacy is very important for some people in this social media society. This relationship had clearly been kept under wraps for a while now, maybe Drake broke a promise and released the information. As we know, this isn’t new ground for Drake, he’s dated some of the most famous people in the industry, according to him; dating back to 2008.
