Dababy settles 100k dispute
Dababy has cemented himself as one of the hottest rappers in the game over this past year. He’s had multiple hits and has teamed up with some of the hottest rappers in the game. But as the saying goes “more money more problems” SInce his rise to fame, Dababy has also had multiple run-ins with the law.
Legal Issues
At the top of the year, Dababy was detained and questioned in Miami about a robbery. While he was being detained, law enforcement became aware of an outstanding warrant he had from a battery charge in Texas. The incident stemmed from Dababy and his crew allegedly beating up and robbing a promoter who only paid him 20,000 out of the 30,000 that was owed for doing a show. Later on in the year, while on tour, the rapper smacked a woman for grabbing him as he was walking through a crowd. He did later acknowledged his faults in that situation and apologized to the woman.
DaBaby
The dispute that Dababy just settled stems from a 2019 incident. A promotion company by the name of Nothing to Something ENTertainment sued him for 100,000 for not performing at a scheduled performance. Dababy and his team were at the venue and did intend on performing. However a brawl in the club, between a rapper scheduled Don Trag and security. The rapper felt the venue was unsafe and he and his team wound up leaving without performing. This Is what prompted the promotional team to sue him.
The lawsuit was settled out of court, so there are there has been no word on the dollar amount, or if they just let dropped it altogether.
