From Beyoncé’s Prodigies to VMA Nominations in two categories, the Sisters really Do IT!
Chloe and Halle have proven themselves to more than look and sound good they actually do it! The plot has thickened, as they are nominated amongst artists who have been in the game for years! They are nominated for Best R&B song and best quarantine performance. This rising R&B duo has more than proven themselves to be heavy hitters in this game. As they tackle their first award nominations, the social media world waits patiently as tables can turn quickly!
Their hot single, “Do It”, dropped May 14th of this year. The studio album Ungodly Hour was slated to drop June 5th. However, with respect to the Black Lives Matter movement, they pushed it back a week and still did numbers. Amongst the nominees for the VMA’s, which airs Sunday, August, 30th, is Alicia Keys, H.E.R, Khalid, Lizzo, and The Weekend.
Chloe (22) X Halle (20) rock the charts during Quarantine
Following the sisters opening up for Beyoncé’s Lemonade in 2016, they have released two albums with the recent album charting at 16 on Billboard’s 100. In addition to making the Billboard 100, Chloe X Halle has been published in Rolling Stone as 50 Best Albums mid-year and Uproxx, Best Albums so far of 2020.
Flavors for days in Live performance and official video
In the official video, the girls took on a dramatic-edgy-sparkly look. This was different for the duo, seeing as though they have always been seen as conservative with amazing voices. The live video performance was the opposite. The camera angles, the colors; it was a summertime bop! The choreography swept social media by storm and turned into the #DoItChallenge.
As we all wait to tune into the show this week, we are excited for the young girls for flourishing while respecting the culture!
