Chadwick Boseman Honored on 44th Birthday

The World Remembers Chadwick

The world reflects with bittersweet feelings as the late Chadwick Boseman’s 44th birthday is being celebrated today, November 29th.  The young actor would have turned 44 today but sadly passed away on August 28th from a battle with colon cancer.

When Boseman first passed away, his team had released a statement claiming that the Howard Alum had been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in 2016.  Upon progressing to stage 4, Boseman’s health began to worsen ultimately leading to his untimely death.

All over the internet, there have been several tributes and kind gestures that have been given in memoriam of Chadwick. His brother Kevin posted a picture of white flowers on his Instagram with a caption that read “Today is a good day to give someone their flowers.”

Marvel also paid homage to the actor that brought King T’Challa to life with a montage from the Black Panther movie. The reel included the caption “Long live the King. #WakandaForever”.

Boseman Leaves Amazing Legacy

Even with passing at the early age of 43, Chadwick Boseman was able to portray many iconic characters in black culture. Along with starring in action-packed films like 21 Bridges, Boseman also starred in biopics for figures like Thurgood Marshall, James Brown, and Jackie Robinson.

Boseman was awarded 10 times for his various roles over the years. While most accolades come from Black Panther in 2018, Chadwick also received awards for his performances in getting On Up! and Marshall.  

Other notable appearances that Boseman made include his guest appearances on shows like SNL, where he would showcase an ability to have a great sense of humor.

Boseman’s final film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom will begin streaming on Netflix on December 18th.  The film also marks his first posthumous nomination as Chadwick received a nod from the IFP Gotham Awards, which recognizes successful independent filmmakers.

The entire world fondly remembers and honors Mr. Chadwick Boseman today because of his great character as a man and talent as an actor.
