Cardi B Opens Up About Divorcing Offset

Cardi B opens up on why she filed for divorce from Offset

Earlier this week, female rapper Cardi B filed for divorce from Migo’s rapper Offset. The couple secretly married in 2017 and have a 2-year old daughter, Kulture.

After it was reported Cardi had filed for divorce, there was a lot of speculation on what prompted her to file. Rumors flew around that Offset was cheating on Cardi (again) and that he had another baby on the way. She finally took to Instagram Live on Friday to let her fans know why she decided to call it quits.

“Nothing crazy out of this world happened, sometimes people really do grow apart,” she stated.

She’s just tired of arguing and finally over it.

Cardi clarified that this was not a publicity stunt, as some also speculated. “I have been with this man for four years. I have a kid with this man, I have a household with this man…sometimes you’re just tired of the arguments and the build-up. You get tired sometimes and before something happens, you leave.”

I just got tired of f—ing arguing,” she admitted. “I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye. When you feel like it’s just not the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I’d rather just leave.” She stated that she saw all of the love and prayers that were being sent to her but reassured everyone that she was doing fine.

Cardi B filed for divorce on Sept. 15, according to the Fulton County Magistrate in Georgia. The court documents obtained by Billboard indicate that Cardi is asking the court to award her primarily legal and physical custody of their child. Their hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 10 a.m.
