Bun B to Appear at “All Screwed Up” Stream
On November 16th, the latest tribute to the legendary DJ Screw All Screwed Up will be out for viewers to see. A viewing party for the visual tribute will be held by director Issac Yowman, producer Miriam Heads and UGK member Bun B. Bun B took to his Instagram posting a photo of DJ Screw explaining his part in the visual tribute.
All Screwed Up is a significant project as this upcoming November 16th makes it 20 years since DJ Screw passed. With Bun B being from Port Arthur and an elder statesman of Hip-Hop in Texas, it makes perfect sense to have him represent on the panel. In moves like this, you can see that Bun B wants to properly uphold the memory of a DJ who shaped a sound for an entire city.
Forever Loyal to A H-Town Legend
Bun B has been able to grow into rocking shows on his own, but DJ Screw can be considered one of the biggest components to his success. From the time UGK began recording in the early 90s, Bun B would have many stories of how he would record songs with Screw for mixtapes. These earlier cuts helped to pave the way for UGK’s success
When thinking of Houston’s Hip-Hop scene both DJ Screw and Bun B are usually at the front of their identity. As the only member of UGK left living, Bun B has taken a great responsibility in carrying on that legacy as well as DJ Screw.
Considering how many people seek his audience for insight on the H-Town culture, it’s evident that the contributions from UGK and DJ Screw are greatly appreciated. The Hip-Hop world looks forward to the release of All Screwed Up to continue honoring a Dirty South Pioneer.
