Big Sean Mentors Young Nyla Lewis

Big Sean Mentoring

Big Sean has had much success over the years, including this year’s release of Detroit 2. Now, the rapper believes it is time to give a helping hand to young aspiring artists.

The young rapper, Nyla Lewis, was surprised by Big Sean recently with her own private mentoring lesson. Sean is now included in the McDonald’s Black and Positively Golden Mentors program.

Sean says that mentoring is helpful in many ways and can pave the way for success in the future. “Mentorship can be key to success.”

He continues to talk about how mentoring helped him out throughout the years and how he is proud to return the favor to other young artists.

“I definitely benefitted from guidance as a young adult and aspiring artist, so it’s an honor to partner with McDonald’s to pay it forward as a Black & Positively Golden mentor who is helping another artist navigate her music career.”

In their virtual meeting, Big Sean gave the artist many helpful tips and answered her questions as well. He also talked to her about his career when he was around her age just starting out.

Nyla did not only receive one-on-one mentoring with the rapper, but she also received professional music software equipment to help her in her music career. The 19-year-old also goes on to thank Mcdonalds for the experience and for giving her the help she needed to be successful in her rapping career.

“Big Sean is a huge inspiration, and I appreciate him taking the time to mentor me,” the aspiring rapper says. “I began my music career in elementary school and always dreamed of connecting with a major artist like him. This is the surprise and gift of a lifetime that has put me closer to living my dream. I appreciate McDonald’s for making it happen.”
