BandGang Paid Will Killed In Detroit

Detroit is in mourning.

Today is a sad day for people like me, who are massive fans of the Detroit Hip-Hop scene. Whether it’s Sada Baby, 42 Dugg, BandGang, Tee Grizzley, Icewear Vezzo, AllStar JR, Babyface Ray or so many other artists I am forgetting; they are all extremely unique, talented, and continue to put Detroit on the map for Hip-Hop. Sadly, we have lost one of our own here today in Michigan, due to gun violence.

It has been reported, but not confirmed by law enforcement, that BandGang Paid Will has been shot and killed in Detroit yesterday. He was 27.

Members of the BangGang collective confirmed the tragic news via social media and expressed their sadness for losing their friend, brother, and group member. As a fan of Paid Will’s music, this hits close to home. It was not even a few days ago I was listening to the “Br6nx Baby” mixtape. Genuinely, I send his friends, family, and all of the fellow BandGang my thoughts and prayers for the loss.

In the Instagram posts above, BandGang member Lonnie Bandsand Javar let out their frustrations about the loss of their group member. BandGang Masoe tweeted out about his pain. Javar and Lonnie Bands took to Instagram, both of them sharing their stories and experiences with Will that they will never forget. Losing a friend is never easy, especially if you have been through as much as they have been together. 10 years Will was in BandGang.

You can listen to Paid Will’s most recent song, “In My Bag”, in the video below.

The pain is real.

Jizzle P

Even with the passing of Paid Will shocking the Detroit rap scene, it comes too soon. Not even two months ago, BandGang member Jizzle P was tragically shot to death in while sitting in his driveway, in front of his mother. With all of the death that has happened this year with rappers such as King Von, Mo3, and Pop Smoke, we need people to put the guns down. We are losing too many talented artists to gun violence. I do not have the answers, but I pray for peace.
