Ashanti and Keyshia Cole Slated for Verzuz Matchup

It’s official! #Verzuz has announced a matchup which is sure to excite R&B lovers everywhere!

Ashanti and Keyshia Cole have agreed to battle against one another during a #Verzuz matchup. The announcement comes after fans incessantly requested that the two go toe-to-toe.

Both artists posted to Instagram with news of the upcoming battle royale. Ashanti makes it clear that the #Verzuz matchup will celebrate women’s empowerment.

The two R&B greats will meet on Saturday, December 12. #Verzuz was elated to also share the news with music fans.

Ashanti brought many classics as an artist.

Ashanti doesn’t look a day past 40 and the songstress has blessed the industry with favorite jamz like “Foolish“, “Baby“, and “Ain’t It Funny” in the early 2000s.

The “Always On Time” singer was signed to Murder Inc. in 2002. That same year, teenage Ashanti would collab with Fat Joe on “What’s Luv” and Ja Rule on “Always On Time“, which became two of the biggest songs that year.

The singer collabed with a string of artist throughout the years to bring fans more hits like “I’m Real” (which was written and sang for J-Lo), “Mesmerize“, and most recently, the R&B icon is featured on Da Baby’s “NASTY.”

Keyshia Cole is an R&B favorite like Ashanti.

Keyshia Cole is another name in R&B that has brought memorable ballads. Cole released her debut album “The Way It Is” in 2005. The “heartbreak” album introduced the singles “I Should Have Cheated“, “I Changed My Mind“, “Never, “Love“, and “(I Just Want It) To Be Over.”

The “Heaven Sent” artist stepped into the world of reality television allowing viewers to look inside her career and family life on the show “The Way It Is” which aired on BET from 2006 until 2008. The R&B star would go on to take part in two other reality series “Family First” and “Keyshia Cole: All In.

These two artist will surely provide a show and music fans everywhere will watch in unison as two R&B greats face-off!
