Prayers up for 21.
It has been reported as of a few hours ago that Atlanta rapper Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, known professionally as 21 Savage, has lost his brother, Terrell Davis, in an alleged stabbing.
Terrell Davis, age 27, was a rapper also and went by the name TM1way. He released his first single, “Monster”, in February of 2019. Savage and Davis share the same father.
The incident reportedly took place in Brixton, South London, Savage’s birthplace, and was started apparently due to an argument. The Metropolitan Police have yet to release the identity of the assumed victim. No arrests have been made as of yet.
Savage took to his Instagram to confirm the loss of his brother and mourn him. He seemed to be regretful of how in the past he used to take his anger out on his younger brother, Davis, and wishes he could take it back. Prayers go out to 21 and his family during this extremely difficult time.
In the Instagram post above, Savage posted a picture of him and Davis as children, and then a more recent photo of just his late brother.
Sadly, 21 has been through this before.
One of the most distinctive features on 21 Savage’s body is the tattoo of a knife in the middle of his forehead. The average fan probably doesn’t know the significance of it, but it goes deeper than skin. The knife represents the loss of his brother, Quantivayus Joseph, who was sadly murdered in 2016. Joseph was reportedly killed during a drug deal gone wrong.
Savage’s recently dropped music
Even though 21 has experienced a recent loss of a family member, he still has had a great 2020 in terms of music. The “No Heart” rapper decided to link back up with Atlanta producer, Metro Boomin, to create a sequel to their infamous collab tape “Savage Mode”, which lead to the mainstream success he is having currently.
“Savage Mode 2” dropped October 2nd to positive reviews from his fanbase. You can listen to one of the hit songs from the tape, “Runnin”, in the video below.
