Sixteen years ago, Lil Wayne released his fourth studio album, Tha Carter.
This marked the beginning of Tha Carter series which became an indefinite new era in hip-hop. Lil Wayne has been described as the “greatest rapper” of this generation, due to his [iconic] similes, metaphors, and hyperboles.
Lil Wayne had a creative rebirth, which caused him to revamp his style in 2004 for his fourth studio release. At the age of 21, fans and critics were already questioning if he would be able to carry the weight of the Cash Money legacy in the wake of the release of, 500 Degreez.
Sequels rarely show the first installment of a series, but everything that Lil Wayne does today began with “Tha Carter” and elevated his name to one of the most respected rappers in hip-hop.
